MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A Montgomery City Work Crew played cat and mouse this afternoon...literally...with a storm drain.
Crews were notified that a cat was stuck in the storm drain near the Firestone Complete Auto Care location on Atlanta Highway near Faulkner University. Crews attempted to remove the drain cover to lift the cat to safety.
However, the cat became scared by the chisels and saws and ran into a different part of the drain. By the time the crews could move the cover away, the cat had disappeared.
Crews later deployed a tape measure down the part of the drain where the cat was last seen which scared it out of its hiding place - crews watched as the cat scampered away to safety.
