Montgomery Co. Sheriff's Office will host National Night out in the Town of Pike Road

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is partnering with the Town of Pike Road to host the 29th annual National Night Out celebration for Montgomery County at Pike Road Town Hall Tuesday, August 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event will feature presentations and static displays aimed at increasing crime awareness and crime prevention in the MCSO jurisdiction area, which includes the Town of Pike Road. Personnel from the sheriff’s office will grill hot dogs and hamburgers and interact with the public.

The Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department will also participate in the event, teaching about fire and incident prevention and demonstrating the organization’s mobile smoke house. WVAS FM will broadcast live from the event prior to the presentations. The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to lock their homes, turn on exterior lights and join friends, neighbors and public safety officials in front of Pike Road Town Hall for an evening of fun and learning.

“The National Night Out event is an opportunity for citizens to learn how to keep their homes and communities safe as well as to learn about the excellent programs and services provided by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office,” said Mayor Gordon Stone. “We are thankful for our partnership with the sheriff’s office, through which we are able to provide top-notch police protection to the people of the town in a fiscally efficient, responsible manner.”

For more information, contact Chief Deputy Derrick Cunningham, MCSO, at 832-1646, or Mayor Gordon Stone at 272-9883.
