Go coastal in East Montgomery on July 13th | Community Spirit

Wish you were at the beach but your wallet is low on clams? Don’t worry, mon. You can go coastal in east Montgomery at an inland beach party hosted by Auburn University at Montgomery. Join us July 13, 6-8 p.m., on the AUM quad, when Auburn reggae/funk group The Good Doctor will fill the air with cool islandbeats.

The event is the second installment of the third annual AUM Summer Concert Series. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable fooditem for the Montgomery Food Bank.

Guests should bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Outside food is welcome, but Boomer T's Barbecue will sell hamburgers, hot dogs, barbeque sandwiches, loaded nachos, drinks and snacks.

Outdoor games and activities will be offered for kids, including sidewalk chalk, bubbles and coloring pages. AUM mascot Curtiss the Warhawk will also pop in for a visit.

The show must go on, rain or shine. Luckily, unlike the beach, the party can bemoved inside. In case of inclement weather, festivities will be held in the AUM Physical Education Complex.

Please mark your calendars for the final concert of the series on August 17, when AUM alumnus Clint Darby and the BTW Magnet High School chorus will perform.
